Orange Glazed Carrots

1 ½ lbs. Baby carrots
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 ½ teaspoons cornstarch
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground mace
¼ teaspoon white pepper
¾ cup fresh orange juice

Bring carrots to a boil in 2 inches of salted water over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 7 minutes. Drain.
Melt butter over medium heat, stir in dry ingredients and cook, stirring for 1 minute. Add orange juice gradually and cook, stirring until mixture thickens (about 3 minutes).
Pour over carrots.
This is also very good over beets.
